Considering gas mileage of the different fuels:

Base gasoline is 114,000 BTU/gal. 200-proof ethanol is 77,000 BTU/gal.

So, it follows that: E10 = 110,300 BTU/gal. E15 = 108,450 BTU/gal.

A gallon of blended gasoline/ethanol has lower energy content and gives you lower mileage. They don't put the ethanol in gasoline to improve fuel economy. Theoretically, your mileage should drop by something on the order of 3-5%, depending on which fuel you use.

Happy Friday everyone! Marc
