The tire manufacturer (General) approves rim widths between 6' & 7.5" for this particular tire.

I have had 16", 18" and 19" rims with low profile tires on my van and car(s) and they did not survive the potholes on New Orleans roads.

The 14" rims with 205-70 tires allow me to climb over curbs without worry of damage.
