That would depend on what kind of vanagon you are talking about.

if it's a wateboxer and someone wanted to jack it by the rear engine cross bar .. while I don't especially recommend that.. that part can take that load. usually the muffler is in the waysome anyway. So not really recommended.

I never recommend taking a car to a tire store, especially a vanagon. I take my wheels and tires in another car to a tire store if I want any mounting and balancing. Alignments and suspension work I do myself.

even when I tell them I am willing to pay extra for careful tire work, they still screw things up.
