Depends on how lucky you are.... You'll need (right off the top of my head):

Engine (complete) - My 1.9 NA long block cost about $3200 delivered seven or eight years ago (Overlandparts.com - p/n 028 100 018K) Injection pump, injectors & lines Carrier bars (if 50 deg install) Motor mounts (if 50 deg install) Oil pan & pump (if 50 deg install) Either a diesel bell housing or a Kennedy adapter

Cheapest way to acquire the pieces might be to find a rusted out Minnesota diesel Vanagon and buy it.

If 'lucky' & you're the chief mechanic, maybe $6k. If unlucky (and/or have to hire it done) the sky's the limit. I've seen bills in excess of $20k.

Ball park enough for you? Google can be your friend here. There's lots of info on them Internet tubes....
