Back in the 80's I worked at a Volkswagen Dealership (Jerry Allen) at the end of or somewhat under that very overpass. The building is now the U-haul store, shown at the first where the Firefighter is checking the lady's neck. That section of I -10 has two heavily traveled exits, one going south to Port Arthur, Tx, and one going west to Houston, Tx, that all meet there. Also each side has an entrance ramp meeting I - 10. And although the land is flat (leading up to the overpass) and straight, it is a dangerous bottle neck, more so at peak times. During the years of my time there, at least five major wrecks took place on that section of road. I remember one in particularly, a bad one involving a 18 wheeler and a family car. Not pretty! Had the Hwy not been elevated it would have been the same distance from our front door to the road as a regular street, so we heard every sound from each crash, like it was in the building! The Thoennes, are very lucky, that is a bad spot! Do they need any parts, .....or ? I have a few items left, mostly sold everything off when I closed shop, but please post what they need! I wish them well! Howard Subject: Re: [VANAGON] Recent Vanagon Crash From Inside the Cab
