Glad you found what you needed. Those nuts were used in various places
in different models from VW. I was going to suggest the Audi dealer if
you got desperate. I noticed they had is listed quite often in the early
80's to mid 90's line ups. Worse case is you could have used a metric
locking nut. It's not a high heat or a critical enough spot that a
lower grade nut would have been an issue. Don't get me wrong though
nothing is better than the proper OEM fastener.
I am curious though if you have any idea when it went missing or thinking back,"that's what that noise was last month I heard while driving."
