Yes, thank you Scott. I have read up on them a bit. The ALH has a quicker Vnt turbo and its what I have in my 2003 Golf and my wife's 2000 Beetle.

The AHU is easier to install I know but I am not thinking about using the very hard to find Diesel Vanagon oil pan etc but rather using the 15 degree installation like Ken Wilford has on his website. I am still in the musing stage as I have yet to get my wbx running in the Bluestar.

Yesterday I found the fuel pump clogged with rust and about a pint of water and rusty sludge in the tank so I am systematically putting things right. The pump has no power to it either so checking the relays will be next. Fortunately I was able to clean out the pump and make it run. I am temporarily going to install a pre pump filter as well as install a brand new post filter.

I am looking for a worthy new owner for my remaining 6 cylinder D24T vehicle (I recently sold my 92 conversion to a guy in Bristol Pa) and the possibility of a trade for a tdi engine might help me decide which one to eventually use. Here in the SE, donor tdi's are as difficult to find as diesel vanagon oilpans and they fetch a premium. Possible but you really have to search.
