Subject:      Recent Vanagon Crash From Inside the Cab

I was contacted today by Julianna Thoennes (from Corvalis.) They found my
number on the Rescue Squad. They had a wreck in Beaumont, Tx and
'Rastafalia' is still suffering some consequences, although the Tiico seems
to be running fine. I only had a short time to talk to them as I had to go
to work. Tomorrow we are meeting at my shop where I will check their
alternator (they had to replace the battery,) shifting mechanism (sometimes
unable to get into second,) and noisy radiator fan (they did replace the
radiator....had to,) and whatever else I can find. I will post their
intended trajectory across the map, to Corvalis, so maybe we can set them
up with a supported route of sorts. Tomorrow I will have a better idea of
their overall condition. They made it to Durango, so things are looking
good...although the poor van is not pretty to look at (apologies Julianna.)
On the other hand, they were doing 65mph and came out of it safe and
sound.....towing a trailer! Here is the link :
