HI steve,
are you on top of how those two engines fit differently into a Vanagon ?

the AHU is the very last diesel VW engine with the original block
archetitture, that started in about 1975..and thus will bolt into a
vanagon tilted over diesel vanagon style.

the AHU won't ...different animal.
Pretty cool they kept the same bolt-up everything from about 75 to 1998.
..all inline 4's gas or diesel.
