My 15 year old daughter and I went on Saturday. I was the proud father that she was happy to take a four hour round trip to ogle at classis cars! It had been a couple years since my last trip there, but my impression was that there were fewer cars overall than in previous years, and certainly fewer classic VW's. In past years I've seen an assortment of Things, Type 3's, and even a VW Brasilia once (quite rare anywhere in the U.S., and particularly on the East Coast). This year, the entire vintage VW contingent consisted of one Bus, three Bugs, and no Vanagons or Eurovans at all. Still, it's an entertaining show if you love classic European cars in general (which I do; I also drive an old Fiat 500 and a Citroen 2CV, both of which make my Vanagon feel downright speedy!).

There's a show in Manassas, VA that's still pretty decent. Also one at Maple Grove Raceway in PA in June, although it too has shrunk a lot. Also, around the first weekend in October we run our Buses By The Depot here in PA, which has more Vanagons than any of them (although they're actually being camped in, not displayed), and with the Bus Depot down the street more Vanagon parts than you'll find at any VW show.
