The other day, I saw an outfit putting a Subaru Boxer diesel into a Vanagon in Raleigh.  The guy said it was an industrial engine.   I did not enquire about the price as I was there getting 2nd hand wbx parts.     I also saw a Syncro with a BEW installed.
