I get a ton if perspective people coming up to me as I'm college aged, in a college town, and drive a bunch of vanagons. Constantly people are saying "well if you can do it and maintain multiple, how hard can it be?"

I always start by asking if they work on cars, then follow up by "and you'd be comfortable taking an engine out or melting out a rusted bolt?" "If no, that's the level you need to get to.....but fear not, we can get you there" This is when they all roll there eyes and tell me they'll take it to a mechanic, and this is the same time that I tell them your average mechanic can't track down all the parts!

There are two ways to own a Vanagon. Time, or money. Finding the balance is way more sane than kicking one of the extremes. But without the knowledge to put into the time, your only option is money....how deep are your pockets?
