The brake lights are operated by the two switches on the master cylinder, not the brake pedal. Either one can be stuck on keeping the lights on.

So the brake lights on the 87 Westy I gave my daughter and son in law won't turn off. Some times if the fuse is pulled and then replaced the next day they do in fact turn off. If I disconnect the switch they stay on, and if I jump the wires on the switch they stay on. I don't see any reference of this issue in the archives nor on Samba. Any ideas?

Thanks, Finn Runyon in Taos NM 87 Westy Pooh 89 Westy Roo
