You can get it in various thicknesses and consequently weight per square foot. The heavy thick stuff Don used is for the floor of stalls. Thinner stuff is often used on the walls of horse trailers. BTW, I live on a farm where there are a few horses (thoroughbreds and a couple of Clydesdales).

Apart from the weight of the thick stuff, one drawback with the thick stuff is the smell. Pretty strong rubber scent, does diminish after a while.

I used the thinner stuff in my front outer cv joint protector project.

It wouldn't have been my first choice, I thought that the pressed/composite nature of the stuff would fail under repeated flexing, but hey, they are still intact.
