Yes, the stuff I use is about 1/4" thick. The stuff for horse floors is probably 3/4" thick and has a pebbled finish. The thinner stuff is smooth, but it doesn't slide around at all. That thick stuff is HEAVY. Fitting and placing it in barn applications is hard work...
