I see that Volkswagen Of America is now going to up-date all their US/Can spec diesel vehicles to be idiot proof! Well at least they are going the replace the fuel tank covers (that's German for gas cap) with one calling attention to the fact that you must use Diesel fuel in a Diesel Vehicle!

Which reminds me of the time when I returned from pre-paying for my gas. A very nice lady came up to me at the pump island and said; "Sir, I turned off your pump"! you were pumping "gas" into your van". (As you must have surmised, I had changed the motor in my 82 Camper to an inline gas, but had not removed the Diesel emblems) I thanked the lady, explained and finished the fill up, and I removed the Diesel emblems the next day.....
