Good point, and in my last install I used a longer VDO hose that is NLA to do that. This is a steel braded hose, and the VDO sender is pretty tough (note it points to the rear so the plastic top is facing back), but maybe it's not a great location for off-roading. Maybe the folks at Van Café can make up a longer one.

I don't plan on having this on the WBX for more than 3000 miles on paved roads this summer before the Subaru goes in.

that sender location looks awfully vulnerable. Not just road debris and rocks, but water spray, mud, salt.

They really should have made the extension longer so sender can be located on top of engine.
