it sure helps to have a known-good spare distributor. don't even have to install it into the engine to see if it will produce spark.. just plug it in , turn it with your fingers.. if youget a zap out of the coil wire ...'houston, we have ignition.'

then you know what the problem isand how to deal with it. as stated ... mainly it's 4 areas, dist, coil, wires, ecu.

make sure the distributor is being driven and is turning.
