The hole in the door behind the panel is about 6" in diameter, but odd shaped. Best not to cut any metal though, there is a tube for the window regulator cable that runs behind the front edge.

I'm also installing new speakers and electric windows to avoid the winder clearance problem. http://www.spalusa.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=33000030 Search for it on sale.

Hi, i was wondering if anyone has ever used a hole saw or a circle cutter on a mounted front door panel? I was thinking about installing 5" speakers, could I do this by expanding the 4" hole in the with the panel mounted if I were careful? This on an 84 Westy without power windows. Still working on my audio mojo. Thanks in advance. Bill Witz
