We don't often travel too far from home - usually around 250 miles or so max (unless we are visiting my sister in upstate NY then about 450-500mi). I prefer whenever possible to stay off the expressway and keep to the two lane roads. It does make the trip more enjoyable and way more relaxing. I am not afraid fo the expressway - I just hate it. I am comfortable at 65 with the 1.9L - but I prefer to keep it around 60 tops. I know she'll go faster but she's an almost 30 year old box on wheels - no matter how good the brakes are if the Sh*t hit the fan that's going to be some skillful driving to get out of it (even at 60). We do take the expressway when visiting my sister - but that is mostly traveling the 401 in Canada and to be honest there isn't half the stress driving that road as there is driving on a US expressway (except maybe around Toronto).
