That may be it, although my guy thought it still may be stock. The arm on the steering wheel sure looks stock and matches what is in the owner's manual.   The arm has a black thick wire (probably bundle of wires inside) that goes up and around to a black box. The black box had an old label that said something to the affect: "AT Magnet...Servo..." Memory is hazy. That is the speed sensor for the stock cruise control.  Maybe the problem we are having is that you have an aftermarket cruise system?  That would get the speed sense from a magnet on the rear CV axle instead of at the speedo head.  It also probably wouldn't have the switch I am talking about, instead it would be using the brake light switches and just be spliced into that.
