Subject: putting yakima racks on a vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all,

I had yakima racks on my vanagon and I'm trying to figure out what towers I had. I got them from a friend, so I didn't buy them myself. I had to have plates on the van to attach the towers to.

I have now put the racks on my boring car that (alas) has replaced my van, and I had to buy new towers. I want to pass on the old towers, but I don't know what kind they are.

I went on the yakima website, and they say they have no setup for a vanagon. Right...

Does anyone else have yakima racks on their van? If so, do you know what kind of towers you had?

I'm planning to put my old towers in a swap-meet sale in a local store (where I bought my new towers). If they don't sell, I'll be happy to pass them on to someone on the list who might want to put racks on their van. Yakima racks are really pricey - the towers alone run around $200. Plus hardware to attach them, a pole, and whatever hardware you want for attaching your toys. But they are really wonderful, reliable, sturdy racks, I recommend them highly. Safe at any speed.

So if anyone knows what kind of towers I might have, could you please email me ASAP? (the swap thing is tomorrow, and I want to be able to label these towers!)

And if anyone is interested in taking my towers if they don't sell, please email me and you can have them if you pay the postage (from Newfoundland).

Joy
