Except for torque converter slip the overall gear ratios for the automatic and 4 speed transmissions are the same. On a 25.5 inch diameter tire you will be real close to 68 mph at 3,800 rpm.

Anyone else ever notice that when cruising at 55 mph (at least in my '90 21.L WBX and automatic tranny) that the needles of the speedo and tach are pointing straight up? And they stay in parallel at higher speeds? I'm betting the straight up at 55 was engineered that way, glance down at the dash and if there all is well. Reminds me of the instrument panel on some airplanes, glance across the instrument panel and if all instruments read straight across all is running as it should be. Question: Is it about the same with a 4 speed tranny?
