Subject:      Difference between syncro & 2wd bumper connections for hitches?

I want to install a internal bumper hitch to my syncro doka-Euro spec
model- I see on vendor websites that there are different hitches for syncro
& non syncros, but alas  the pics are not representative of the actual
hitch, so I can't see what the difference is.  I have a VW hitch on my 2 wd
84 westy, & could simply switch them if they are the same, as I won't be
pulling a trailer w/ my westy anymore or until I get the right hitch for
the syncro.   FWIW, the 90 syncro has black metal bumpers & no tow hooks
like my 84.

Help?
