I had a chance today to pull my fuse panel and see if I could tighten up the connection Jim is talking about (the big red wire coming from battery to on of the large "P" connections on left side, back of panel). Working the connector and pinching it to get better grab did not improve the connection, I measured an approx 0.2V voltage drop between battery and the P terminals. Battery side connection looked good, I did not work on it . So I removed the plastic cover from the big red wire and noted that the crimped connection was corroded a little. I cut the spade connector off (VW did not give us much extra wire on this run) and crimped on a new spade. This improved matters, now a 0.05V voltage drop between batter and P connections. I probably will clean up battery end of the run to see if I can get even less voltage drop.
