Likely 1A towers with or without the extenders. The raingutter plates could be fitted as shown in the pix referenced below:

Notice the particular locations of the plates. The spacing is roughly 32" center to center which matches the spacing on almost all the fixed spacing devices you might like to mount EG Rocket boxes, bike racks, Thule boxes, yak wire baskets. Remember the plates are NOT adjustable once mounted without re-drilling. If mounted as mine are there is sufficient clearance above the roof without using the tall towers on the plates. Of course my solution to carrying may not fit your needs. Measure thrice, drill oncet. Using the tall tsdowers may be a necessity on tintop vans as the clearance is very tight, roof to rail. On a westytop using the tall towers with the plates significantly increases the wind resistance both frontal and side profiles, if any thing of notes is mounted up there.

I strongly favor the excellent racks made by Gary Lee in Calgary to carry bicycles or other similar loads.

The "tall towers" on my xynkro mount above the front doors and give an effective set of four crossbars to haul whatever fits. Including sheets of this and that, tubing, wood, pipe, stuffed giraffes, empty coffins very long fishing rods, sky hooks, hang gliders, kayaks, the list is ...
