<lots of stuff cut out>

Oh, and I meant to mention that if I will be longer than 2-3 days, I still can take meats, I just am judicious about what kinds and I keep them in the ice box which usually will hold my jug ice for 5 days. The main reason I put the meats in the ice box when I am out longer is that I have the refrigerator as full as is reasonable with other stuff.

Anything longer than five days or so requires replenishment of perishables anyway, given the space limitations. I also do not bother with mundane perishables like milk, since I can use milk powder for cooking and cereal, anyway.

A couple recently told me that they removed the refrigerator to get the space for other storage, and now rely only on an ice chest. They use a Yeti, and can get five days with cube ice. Given that, I should be able to get maybe 7-8 days or longer with my ice jugs if I spend for a Yeti. I have been putting that off until next time I travel to grizzly country. I am sure that the cube ice that they get 5 days with is not the soft stuff made in an in store ice maker, but rather factory ice stored at 0 F until bought.
