The procedure for changing the old in new ones is the same EXCEPT that the
newer heater boxes are much easier to get out since the fasteners to the
front bulkhead are gotten to from under the grill, not from inside the car.
Much easier. You won't notice anything else to be very different.

The heater valve is gotten to from under the car. But if you are pulling
the heater box, change the valve is made much easier during the job because
you are disconnecting the hoses and heater cable. Go under the car and pull
it down until it is resting on the driveway or garage floor. Then, when you
reassemble, pull it back up by the hose. You will not gash any knuckles
that way and getting the little clip on and off is trivial that way.

Also, tell me after the job is done if there is a woven sock-like thing on
the left AC outlet. I had a 1991 with such a thing and was wondering all
1991s had them. I have never seen any earlier model with one at all.
