I have a Dometic Model RC 160A cooler that I bought new around 1989.
120 VAC 50/60 Hz @ 0.65 A
12 VDC @ 6.5 A
Propane: 300 - 450 BTUH
Works great. I keep it just behind the passenger seat, just like the newer units. I usually plug it into AC overnight before a trip. Then while driving I plug it into 12 VDC RV battery. Once at a camp site, I set it up with a larger propane bottle outside in the shade. It works better than my Dometic fridge in my 1986 Westfalia GL camper. It is an absorption style technology. I have had no issues with this unit since 1989.
I would say for $75.00 it is a bargain.
It looks almost the same as this unit:

Subject: Dometic Cooler
On Craigslist here there is a Dometic chest type cooler that runs on AC, 12
volt and propane. Is that likely to be the same system as in the Westy -
that is no compressor? From the outside it looks like a chest type
portable cooler. He wants $75 for it.
