It is common here in Alaska with cabins, airplanes and boats but I have not seen it done with Westy's, yet. There are potential issues with repairs and use of the vehicle. I have a friend whom is part owner of a Cessna 185 on floats and one of the other partners requested the plane for the entire month of June. With our float plane season as short as it is my friend was none too happy about this, especially since he is working on a cabin on a lake with no other access. These issues can be dealt with but require a lot of forethought to avoid hard feelings, etc.

Mark in AK - Melting in Alaska this summer Who knew that Alaskans would long for clouds and rain in the summer?
