If I recall the wires run up the A pillar by the glove box, then travel over the passenger door and slider. Some partial removal of headliner on the passenger side is required as is the removal of the trim and air outlets above the sliding door. The three wires are taped down as they run to the back and that is why you can't pull them. You will need to tape down the new wires as well or they will move around in there, possibly causing a small rattle. Access to these is not difficult until you get into the cabinet. I could not find a way to remove my speakers so managed to re-wire in place.
