YOU are being reasonable. The VENDOR is being disingenuous. What the hell does "for reference" mean if not reference to the part pictured being the one offered for sale? I have had this experience also. Sadly, straightforwardness in retail sales is becoming more and more a thing of the past. Sometimes vendors will post a disclaimer, stating that the part pictured may not be the one offered. Next, they will be saying that if they list a part number, that is "for reference only," and if the part shipped is different from the one listed, well, too bad.
