Keep it in the garage. The problem with Sharpie (or any other brand) is that the marks will fade under daylight. Felt-tip (capillary) markers use ink. Ink is a dye. Dyes are not UV (ultra-violet (light)) resistant. Therefore daylight will fade the marks.

Better to use a paint marker. A paint marker uses pigments, which are generally UV resistant (fluorescent pigments are not UV resistant, however). Plus, paint markers are available in many more colors (including white). www.markal.com

If anyone is interested in an art project on their van, let me know, I may be able to supply the markers (it's what I do when I'm not working to perfect my idle trying to start my fridge on propane).
