I have the two-piece BD pipes on my syncro and they have been great.

You just have to hawk them for some time, and continue to tighten them because 
mine did leak a bit at the joint until they seemed to settle in.  Or maybe the until the clamps
get settled in?

I was just checking out the set from BD and the pipes are 2 piece as well.
Sounds easier to replace that way.
