It should have come painted and usually they are silver, where did you get
it?  It would have some surface rust if it's bare metal, so I'd paint it
with a rust inhibiting paint like Derusto before coating with anything else
for extra rust prevention.

Hi all me again! Ive got a question about my new fuel tank. My fuel tank is
bare steel would it be wise to coat the exterior with some form of paint/
bedliner stuff to prevent external rust or would that cause more rust?
