from the posts I saw one thing was either understood by all or over looked,
it is entirely legal for a vendor to substitute with a similar item as long
as it is capable of doing the job.  I agree that one should be notified
when this happens and you do have a legal right to refuse the substitute
item but all should be aware that this can and does happen.  Sometimes it
is because they used "stock" photo's and not one of the item in question,
other times it is because they ran out of the item supplied by vendor A and
had to use one from vendor B.  I am not referring to any of our Vanagon
vendors specifically but speaking in general of many businesses from all
industries.  I spent 27 years in the automobile industry mostly in Parts
and Service and it is quite common for this to happen there.  The challenge
with Vanagons is learning which brands manufacture quality parts and the
challenge for The Bus Depot, Van-Cafe, etc, is that plus keeping up with
their suppliers when they suddenly change to a different factory that makes
a lessor grade item than what they offered previously.
