I may try to petition for 1992 models on the basis that they are basically equivalent to the 1991 model and there were no safety changes enacted for 1992 that would affect compliance.

It's worth a shot...

Too bad it couldn't be extended to 1992 European models (anti-lock brakes). Still, thanks for the effort.
