Dear Volks, Do you see what I see in this thread? Something extremely important. Wanna guess? It's the Living Memory of The List. Stuff can get buried in the Archives, and never see the light of day ever again, Or; Even if it could be found and read in the Archives, one cannot understand what transpired because context is lost. Having an active list, with members who have longevity on this list - gives life to the living memory, and issues and answers can be worked through quickly. Companies and organizations get into big trouble often, and some even fail because they instituted policies that adversely affected that living memory. We have even done it here - to ourselves , a time or two, resulting in a loss of important history on our list. As a consequence, there are those here now who have no idea of some of the things we have gone through as the list has moved through it's trials and tribulations into our present form and organization. Much has been gained, but much has been lost. How does one know he's missing a foot, if he never had one. It's that sort of thing when Newbies come aboard and Oldies fade. Gotta keep that Living Memory going. The distance between George Wallace and John Wallace is vast - and only the Living Memory of the List could keep it straight. John
