Larry, can't address the bit sharpener - but I have done a huge amount of drilling in my day - and the absolute best drill bits I have ever used were the "Silver & Deming" brand name bits. Stayed sharp the longest. Pricey however. Sometimes, however, it best to just use cheaper bits and toss when they lose their cutting edge on the tip.
