We got mom's for her when she was 65. took her to NY to FL in 2010 NH, Mt Washington fall 2011 to Acadia maine, via NH & VT in 2012 and headed up to Quebec and Saguenay Fjord this july13. maybe she's done with camping. bugs, rain, mud, etc.. but how about some destinations you(she)have always wanted to see/visit. but you can lead a horse to water, you can't change their minds.. just leave her at home.. and travel some solo trips.. I never understood when one person in a relationship is done why the other has to be.. we also have a NY based VW camping club with several members over the ages of 60 kids, grandkids or just enjoying the open spaces before time & age forces us to stay home or worse.. be "in a home" how do you want to remember your golden years.. watching golden girls and jeopardy?
From: bernie <1234bjs@GMAIL.COM> Subject: Wife is done with Vanagon and camping! The wife turned 65 and is done with camping in the Vanagon. She has been a trooper but I guess all things come to a end. I still enjoy camping in it and the several road trips that I take a year and I am 67. I was just wondering how common a situation this is? Are there many people over 70 on the road in their Vanagon and enjoying themselves alone or with partner? Thanks Bernie Vancouver |
