Bernie,

I'm 73.8 yrs - have three Vanagons - no camper/westfalia - but the
significant other and I love driving and camping in/with them. She loves
the high seat and broad vista visibility of that big windshield as do I.
We alternate a few days in the van with a day  - or two - in a
motel/hotel/b&b - when on the road. I can't imagine giving up this kind
travel/life/vanagon. I think I would become a "sick & shut-in" in short
order. I don't ever anticipate giving up my a Vanagon. I plan to drive
it until it - or I - turn to rust/dust!! I've told  my kids that when
I'm done, come to the end of my road, just strap me in the seat to the
thing, and roll us together into a big hole in the back pasture, cover,
and plant poppies!  Kidding aside - I hope for a long and extended drive
into the future in my Vanagon.
