I don't recommend having that cover in place actually. I have seen them with water in them even .. not good for the fuses.

I think the fuses are happier exposed to the interior of the van. What gets iffy on them is contact at the ends.. which I treat with electrical contact cleaner or wd-40.

it's also good to go down the row of fuses twisting each one slightly once in a great while..that helps maintain contact at the ends, where contact can easily be lost.
