Well, a VW camping bus is something we wanted for years.  Finally got one when I was 64 and wife was 63.  Four years on we are enjoying it immensely.  So, we are not quite 70, but we do have the health issues that come along with age.  We intend to keep camping till we fail to return home one time.

I once met a senior fellow at Big Bend National Park who was there in his van set up for camping.  He was alone, but said his wife accompanied him often.  He mentioned adult offspring back home in Colorado who expressed concern for his welfare when he was out and about.  He said that he and the wife both expected to die sometime, and thought it would be better to do so camping than in a hospital.

I think he was right on.
