Very true. I will have to admit I have always liked the Chevy van based TransVan campers of the late 70's/early 80's. Every once in a while I search them on Craigslist and find one or two for sale. Every time I contact the seller with questions, one being "What's the mpg?" I always get the same answer: 8-10 mpg. Now these are old V8 still running a carb. An engine swap to a more modern V8 would probably give a bit better mpg.
