Why do you want or think you need an AGM battery for starting? I have been around sealed battery technology for industrial and other applications since the late nineties. There are times and applications where they are a must have. For automotive, RV, and even solar use the best feature of these technologies is the sales pitch. When they fail the suppliers will always have some reason it was the users fault. I've dealt with this with batteries up to 48 volts and 1,000 A/H.

The closest to the group 41 is a group 48 as is used in a number of Mercedes and BMW vehicles. Most 48 will be tall to get into the Vanagon battery compartment.

Just go to a Wal-Mart and get the battery. If it fails in less than 2 years you get a full refund and you get to start the 2 year deal again.

Time to replace the starting battery in my 1990 Westy. Is there a suitable AGM group 41 starting battery made by any battery companies?

I checked with Optima (as I have a preference towards them), but they don't make a Group 41 (red or yellow top). Would be great if I could go down to the local parts store and buy an Optima yellow top that fit.

Saw a lot of discussion in the archives about battery fit and Aux batteries, but not much on replacement choices in Group 41 AGM.
