Onething everyone should be very aware of is making sure two oil filter rubber o-rings don't end up between oil filter and engine. It's not that hard to have happen .. remove the old oil filter, don't look to make sure the sealing ring stayed with the old filter, install a new filter... there are now two sealing rings.. that arrange will seal just well enough to last about say 40 minutes, then start to leak, then pump out all the oil.

Even car dealerships have ruined engines with this simple mistake.
