<div style="FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman; COLOR: rgb(0,0,0); FONT-SIZE: 16px"><DIV><SPAN class=misspelled>Hi</SPAN> <SPAN class=misspelled>Volks</SPAN>;</DIV><DIV>All this talk about antennas got me thinking.&nbsp; I once owned a Westy that was used by a ham operator and a super light plane owner who often used the Westy as a "control tower" with his fellow enthusiasts at a strip in Rye, NH (bus rusted out later, ocean fog did it in, but it lived on as a pool <SPAN class=misspelled>cabana</SPAN> for quite some time).</DIV><DIV>He had replaced the original antenna and the radio reception was fantastic.&nbsp; While having some work done on the vehicle that was beyond my time and skills, my friendly body guy replaced it with an original saying there was some bent metal in the area and he just fixed it and put a new one on.&nbsp; I noticed a difference in long distance reception right away.&nbsp; From my earlier forays into transmitting radio waves, I know there is a difference in antennas and their technology.</DIV><DIV>So, any of you <SPAN class=misspelled>tech</SPAN> <SPAN class=misspelled>savvy</SPAN> types out there able to tell me if there is a superior for reception of FM and AM signals antenna available?&nbsp; Being Vanagon, especially Westy, owners, I can see how we&nbsp;often may&nbsp;be in places where radio reception is poor, or wanting to catch the last few bars of a tune as we drive out of range.</DIV><DIV>So what's the consensus?&nbsp; Is there a better antenna out there that will fit our unique vehicles?</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Dave B.</DIV></div>
