I can't think of one word, but I do know this after 34 years as a telecommunications tech and shade tree mechanic: Check the simple stuff first, don't over complicate things, when troubleshooting something for a long time and frustrated, walk away for a while, and even if someone else said they already checked something-check it again anyway!
