I've been camped in high winds where it would have been impossible to deploy the 'straight up' design. The hinged lid design works fine until the wind shifts. The high tops rule in these conditions. There is much to love in all these designs, though some work better in one environment or another. The thing to do is get one of each. I have the high top, tin top and pop top, so one more to go!
