OK, I'll share too. I'm 47 and baught my first bug at age 18 and first bus about a year later. As I'm blind I'm lucky that my girlfriend back then was the daughter of a trucker and man could she drive a standard transmission! Never needed to do any break work when she was the main driver as she down shifted almost to a complete stop in just about any situation I'm told I'm generation X but as I'm the first year of that group I always felt connected to the baby boomers.

I know several young VW Enthusiasts I anticipate that folks will keep taking on the challenge but it may become more expensive and the vans may need to be second cars or summer cars. In that case I suspect very young folks will have more trouble affording them.

I'm just glad that there seems to be helpful mechanics still available to assist those of us that don't have the skills to do the major work. I can't rebuild a engine but I can take very good care of one.

Just returned from West River Westies and had a incredible weekend with great folks. Hilight was certainly the trip to the tubing inlet in the 67 micro bus loaded up with 18 people and 18 inner tubes.
